The a’Zambezi River Lodge is, as its name indicates, on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe. It is one of a handful of lodges in the Victoria Falls region that is situated on the banks of the Zambezi, one of Africa’s giant rivers.

The a’Zambezi River Lodge is a 3-star establishment, offering comfortable accommodation to families, couples and singles enjoying the scenic beauty of the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The Lodge with its traditional thatch architecture, is just 5 km from the famous Victoria Falls. The shuttle departing from the a’Zambezi Lodge makes frequent visits to this natural wonder in Zimbabwe possible, so you will be able to see and do everything the Victoria Falls has to offer.

At the a’Zambezi River Lodge, guests have a choice of 83 comfortable, air-conditioned en suite rooms. Rooms are graded as being double, twin, family, triple and de luxe. Each room has satellite TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, radio with alarm clock, safe and balcony/terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens stretching right down to the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls must be the adrenalin capital of the African continent, but if you don’t feel like one of the many action-packed activities offered, relax at the beautiful swimming pool. A children’s playground will keep the kiddies occupied while mom and dad explores the rain forest at the Falls.

The Amulonga Restaurant at the a’Zambezi River Lodge is famous for its interesting menu – a delicious variety of international favourites and African traditional food. Each night guests are treated to the rhythms and music of African dancers and musicians. The Kuzhe Bush Dinner is a special treat where guests learn more about the Tonga people and their connection with the Zambezi River. The Safari Bar, right next to the swimming pool, as well as the cocktail bar offer drinks to quench any thirst.

The a’Zambezi River Lodge offers activities that will keep you busy from morning to night. A sunset cruise on the Zambezi River is one of life’s rare pleasures not to be missed and leaves from the Lodge. At the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, a number of companies offer activities to suit even the most hardened of adrenalin junkies. There are light aircraft flips across the Falls, white river rafting and kayaking on the Zambezi River, bungi jumping from the Victoria Falls bridge (for the brave ones), an elephant ride, or a swim in the ‘Devil’s Pool’ (a small rock pool right on the ‘lip’ of the Victoria Falls). If you survive the latter without turning grey, perhaps you have the heart of a robot!
